Our Gasifiers work on cars, pickup trucks and 18 wheelers.
There's no need to replace 100% of the diesel fuel used in each and every truck. Replacing a good fraction
(30% to 70%) of the fuel oil used by each truck will provide you with a fuel savings of up to 70% and no power loss, and
if fuel is ever rationed, you will keep going.
Trucking is a far more attractive application than passenger cars, because each installation operates more hours per year, and each
installation uses more power. So the per-unit dollar savings are greater, which allows a relatively complex and costly producer gas
system to be more easily paid for.
What if you could save 30%-70% of the fuel burned by your truck that you drive 60,000 miles a year and burn 1 gallon/9 miles. That is an annual fuel
savings of 3300 gallons per year of diesel fuel at a 50% savings level.
Design load. Steady, constant gas output (enough for 50hp).
Below is a typical installation. Each unit is custom built and programmed for each type of truck and engine.
This is mounted on a transport truck, which has a 350hp engine but an average power requirement of 60hp. When the gasifier is in "on" mode,
a computer permits 0-100% of the gas to flow into the diesel's intake air stream. The balance of the gas is flared, so the gas generator always sees a
steady load.
First stage computer control: The engine's first 50hp is provided by diesel and piloted producer gas. Injector fuel flow stays at idle volumes, producer gas flow is controlled
from 0-50hp worth. The unused portion of the gas flow would be flared.
Second stage computer control: Up to 100hp of power demand, we keep feeding that 50hp of producer gas, but increase the fuel flow to the diesel
injectors.
Third stage computer control: Above 100hp of power demand, start fading out the producer gas fraction, so that by 200hp the fuel flow to the
engine is 100% diesel fuel. This avoids high-load detonation problems, and does not require derating the engine. We flare the unneeded portion of the
producer gas. As soon as max power demand goes away, the computer immediately switches back to piloted producer gas.

Type Of Fuel
We recommend using pulverized charcoal or wood chips. Charcoal has a higher energy density per unit of volume. However, chipped wood,
of uniform size can be used. The good thing about chipped wood is that you can make your own fuel if need be.

Vehicle powered by a downdraft gasifier
In our gasifier,, partial combustion produces Carbon Monoxide (CO) as well as hydrogen (H2) which are both combustible gas.
Solid Biomass fuels, which are usually inconvenient and have low efficiency of utilization can thus be converted in to a high quality gaseous
fuel with the associated convenience.
You can eliminate the expense of operating a motor vehicle or that of providing a household with power and heat.
You can use inexpensive—or sometimes even free —wood scraps as a replacement for costly fossil fuels.
Wood scrap may be recycled as a gasoline substitute for use with an automobile. The good news... It is almost free driving. The bad news... The unit
is big and unsightly. However, if you're not into being fashionable... You can drive for free. When fuel is rationed again or unavailable you'll be glad you
have it.

We manufacture mobile gasifiers for all Commercial Diesel Trucks (including 18 wheelers):
It is of the standard Imbert type, running on chopped wood.
The starting fan, igniter, air and gas valves are operated electrically from the dashboard, the driver has various gauges to monitor the system.
As You can see the "packaging" is very neat, using the free space between the truck and trailer to install the "box" containing the whole system.
The payload area is a bit shortened .
The Renault truck (pictured above) was burning 125 gallons of diesel to go 1000 miles.
With the gasifier fitted, it was using 50 gallons of diesel and 1 ton of wood for the same distance, saving 75 gallons of fossil fuel.
This gasifier is available completely assembled for $14,700
